This started as a bedtime routine with my two youngest sons. We’d take turns making up stories, one part at a time. Nothing polished, just us throwing out ideas and building on whatever came next. Most nights were a mess of imagination and nonsense, but every now and then something stuck.
One story felt different. It had a rhythm to it. I kept thinking about it after they went to sleep.
I decided to write that one down. It’s based on their love for Minecraft, with Kaiden and Makai as the main characters. The story’s rough around the edges, but that’s part of why it matters to me. It came from real time together.
Still a work in progress, but it’s something I want to finish.

A sneak peek at Page 3: Kaiden leads the way as Makai follows closely behind, his eyes wide with excitement. Every adventure begins with a single step.
I used AI to generate the base images from detailed prompts, then brought each one into Photoshop to shape it into something that felt finished. The goal was to keep the blocky Minecraft look but push it into a cleaner, more polished style that could carry a real story. I focused on movement, energy, and giving each scene a sense of personality.
What started as a loose bedtime story turned into something worth keeping. Most nights we forget what we came up with. This one stuck. I wanted to save it for them and see where it could go.
